Icelandair has dropped the price of their fall flights from Edmonton to Amsterdam, Netherlands down to $578 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
You can also fly from Edmonton to Munich, Germany and then Amsterdam to Edmonton, for $571 CAD roundtrip including taxes. (The transportation between Munich and Amsterdam is not included).
There are also other cities you can fly into in Europe instead of Munich, and return from Amsterdam, and keep the price in the $500s or $600s. See below.
These prices with Icelandair include 1 piece of checked luggage.

You can also turn these into 2-in-1 trips with Iceland, where you fly from Edmonton to Amsterdam (spend time there), and then fly to Iceland (spend time there), and then fly home to Edmonton - for $21 more than a regular roundtrip flight

Update 6/30 @ 5 PM MST - There are now 2-in-1 trips available that allow you to visit both London *and* Iceland for $543 CAD including taxes.
You would fly from Edmonton to London, UK (spend time there) and then fly to Reykjavik, Iceland (spend time there) and then fly home to Edmonton.
The first leg has a 90 minute stop in Reykjavik, but legs 2 and 3 are non-stop.
