Crazy price drops to Central America!! From $406 roundtrip after taxes

Update: December 13th - The fare war to Central America appears to be over. Prices on all airlines look to be back up to the $700-$1000 range.

Update: December 12th - The crazy prices to Central America continue, with Delta and Continental getting in on the action now. Delta & Continental look to have matched many of the prices put out by AA, on certain dates.
This also gives you a better chance of finding more reasonable flights (shorter stopovers, no overnighters) to Central America.
Here's what I've seen so far, using a 3 day flexible date search on Kayak...
Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) - $381 roundtrip after taxes (Delta: reasonable flight lengths both ways)
Tegucigalpa, Honduras (TGU) - $388 roundtrip after taxes (Contintental: quick flights each way!)
San Pedro Sula, Honduras (SAP) - $388 roundtrip after taxes (Contintental: quick flights each way!)
Belize (BZE) - $403 roundtrip after taxes (Delta: overnighter on the way there, reasonable ones coming home).

American Airlines has just made an unadvertised cut on their fares to Central America from all across Canada. The prices are ridiculous, and I believe the largest overall price cuts from Edmonton to Central America, ever.
Here's what I've discovered so far...
- Prices between February and May look to be affected the most
- Many of the routes on AA from Edmonton to Central America are crazy, as in 2 to 3 layovers each way, often involving overnight stays. But often what happens when one airline makes a major drop like this, is that the other airlines respond with drops of their own. For example, it looks like Continental has dropped as well, and their routes are a lot more sane.
Here are the cities that have dropped , and I'll provide an example search on Kayak in late February for each one.
Try your own dates and see what comes up. Play around on Kayak to find cheap ones with good routings.

There's a huge fare war to Amsterdam (AMS) going on at the moment. It's extremely rare to see the major airlines drop a price to Europe like this from Edmonton that affects such a large range of dates. Actually, it's extremely rare to see a price drop to Europe from Edmonton, period.
