Edmonton to Greece | $686-$715 roundtrip including taxes

KLM is currently showing some flights from Edmonton to Greece in late April and early May 2015 that are the cheapest I've ever seen. They're about 40% below the typical best price for airfare between Edmonton and Greece
April/May is a pretty ideal time to visit Greece, with average highs of around 19C-24C, and before the summer tourists invade.
How to find and book these...
Edmonton to Thessaloniki, Greece (SKG) - $686 roundtrip including taxes
Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece, after Athens, and located near the sea.
Try one of these searches on Kayak...
(remember to wait for Kayak to completely finish loading)
Hit the Select button on Kayak to click through from Kayak to KLM's website for booking.

You can usually find cheap flights from Thessaloniki to the Greek islands using Skyscanner, like this...
You may notice that some of the flights have a 22 hour overnight layover in Amsterdam (AMS) on the way back. For some, this might be a bonus, as downtown Amsterdam is easily accessible from the airport by train.
For a few dollars more ($4 ?) there does appear to be some options that do not require an overnight layover on the way back, but have 2 stops instead of 1.
Edmonton to Athens, Greece (ATH) - $715 roundtrip including taxes
Similar to above, try a search on Kayak, like this...

Again, you can usually find cheap flights from Athens to the Greek islands using Skyscanner, like this...
I haven't been to Athens myself, but from what I've heard, once you've seen the highlights and history, you'll probably want to get out of the city and visit one of the beautiful Greek islands, such as Santorini...

For about $30 more there does appear to be some options that do not require an overnight layover, but have 2 stops instead of 1.
How long will this deal last?
As always, it's tough to say. In this case, dates look to be very limited, so the price could change quite quickly, especially if there is a really high demand surge due to this blog post.
If any other cheap date combinations are found, I'll update this blog post.

I've been waiting a long time for this! Turkey has always been near the top of my list of places on this planet that I want to check out (and it's a long list). Fares are *never* cheap though, and usually hover around a minimum of $1300-$1400 roundtrip after taxes.
