The December 3rd departure to the Riu Emerald Bay in Mazatlan, Mexico has dropped to $665/person after tax.
Flight, hotel (7 nights), food, drinks, etc.
The Riu Emerald tries to bill itself as a 5*, but from reading the reviews at TripAdvisor you can see that only sets people's expectations way too high, and is another example of why star ratings are useless.
Overall, the resort quality is at the high end of average. At this price it's a good deal, but I wouldn't pay the $1100-$1500/person that it's normally priced at.
