"I'm a travel junkie who's hooked on deals from YEG." - Chris Myden

Edmonton to New York City | $362 roundtrip including taxes | cheapest ever

New York City

Delta is showing an unadvertised price drop on airfares between Edmonton and New York City, for $362 CAD roundtrip, including taxes. These are the cheapest fares I've ever seen from Edmonton to the Big Apple. The previous record was set in 2011, when they dropped to $423.

The easiest way to find and book these fares is to start with a search on Google Flights Explorer, like this:

From there, click on a flight on the bar graph that looks interesting to you. This will take you to the flight details page.

On the flight details page, scroll down and look for the 'Book on Delta' button. This will take you to Delta.com and verify that the price still exists, and allow you to book it.

This looks to have affected prices up until early July 2014.

At the same time, Delta has also dropped the price of their flights to Chicago down to a similar price level. While not a record setting price, it's pretty close to the cheapest they've ever been ($336 CAD is the record).

Here's a Google Flights Explorer search for Chicago...

These Delta flights are not non-stop, but are quite decent with a brief stop in Minneapolis (MSP) in each direction.

Being an unadvertised price drop, it's impossible to say when Delta will put the price back up.

Chris, it did not work for me. Google flight shows best price $321 but when I go to search for dates, none show this price. I also searched on Delta.com directly and it shows some kind of error, to contact their customer support.

Sometimes with Delta's unadvertised drops, this can be a sign that the deal is dieing. But I just tried some random dates, and they all seemed to verify fine on Delta.com, so this price drop seems to still be alive and kicking, at least as of 9:50 PM.

What month were you trying Nila?

Just booked my trip to NYC going from end of June for 2 weeks for $357pp! Amazing deal! Thanks SO much for the heads up. I was going to book last week for over $200 more each ticket.

Thanks for sending us this great deal! Just so that people know, this deal is to Newark, which is NOT New York City. Newark is in New Jersey, and can be a pain to get to and leave from depending on the time of day (I've lived in NY for over 30 years and hate the Newark-NYC trip). But you still can't beat this price, and the trip from Newark to NYC might still be worth it.

Reading this makes me so happy my fight was $632. Not. Also when booking how to you know if it's Canadian or American funds? When I confirmed my ticket was less than $550 then on my visa it showed up in USD. I've been to NYC a few times and never had this problem.
