ANA (All Nippon Airways) is showing flights from Edmonton to Jakarta, Indonesia for $842 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have stops in Vancouver and Tokyo each way (connecting through Tokyo has always been allowed and is hassle free, even though Japan has not yet fully reopened).
From Jakarta (CGK) you can always find flights to Denpasar / Bali (DPS) for under $100 each way.
And you can also fly from Jakarta to various other places around Southeast Asia for $60-$150 each way (try a search like this one on Google Flights).

How to find and book this deal - United both ways
1. Start with one of the following Google Flights searches:
Google Flights: Edmonton to Jakarta, Indonesia (CGK)
2. In Google Flights click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations.
- Adjust the trip length at the bottom.
- Look for the dates that are $868 to $897 roundtrip.
NOTE: You may find these are difficult or impossible to book from Google Flights (the price may show up as $2600+ when you get to the final page).
What you should try instead is....
- Try the same dates you found on Google Flights.
- You may need to play around with slightly different dates if you can't find
- From Kayak, click on the 'View Deal' button and select 'ANA'. This will redirect you to the ANA website.
4. Once on the ANA website, you may need to scroll down and look for (and select) the flight segments that are approximately $440 CAD each way.
